Role in series

Artemis Fowl and the Arctic Incident

Luc Carrère was used by Cudgeon to supply human batteries in order to power Cudgeon's stockpile of illegal Softnose lasers, which were in turn used to arm the goblins who fought in the B'wa Kell rebellion.

Luc opened fire on Domovoi Butler when he came per request of Commander Root to investigate the source of the batteries, causing Butler to knock him out. When he awakened, he was informed he had counterfeit money and had to go to prison.[1]

His name is similar to that of the author Jean Le Carre so it might be that Colfer is having a go at him.
