After navigating through the bends of Route de Vence and passing through the toll station, Butler passed the boy and two fairies in the back a laptop kooked up to the Paradizo security system, showing Kong turning traitor. Just as he was about to kill Juan Soto because Minerva wasn't cooperating, Artemis asked his bodyguard's opinion if he'd go through with it, and the manservant said that in Kong's mind, it was already done. So Artemis came up with a quick plan and had Foaly patch him through to Kong's mobile phone, pretending to offer N°1 as trade for Minerva's life.

Basset is a somewhat arrogant young demon who, like the others, made fun of the imp [[Number One]]. Although he had already warped before the events of the book, he preferred to stay in the imp dormitories to intimidate the other imps who hadn't yet warped.

Basset also challenged Abbot by declaring that his tradition of naming warped demons after characters in ''[[Lady Heatherington Smythe's Hedgerow]]'' was ridiculous. Abbot tried to force Basset into submission by using the ''[[mesmer]]'', but surprisingly Basset managed to hold out for a few moments before succumbing. Only few individuals have been able to do this, such as [[Butler]].

After making sure his charge was covered, Butler informed Holly and Artemis of this, and could only watch helplessly as Captain Short tried to rescue N°1, only for the little demon to be sent below the stage using a trapdoor.

This is a big mystery,and since the only humans who knew about the fairies were Artmis Fowl and Butler. They find him and take him to the Lower Elements to see if it was him. He has not did it, but  Commander Root and Captain Short make a deal with Artemis: they will help find his father in Russia, if he will help them find out what is happening.	+	They then journey to Paris, where they find a human being controlled by the ''mesmer,'' Luc Carrere. -	Lieutenant Briar Cudgeon has been rechoosen as Commander as Artemis Fowl, Domovoi Butler, Commander Julius Root and Captain Holly Short, traveled  trough Russia, and fighting against goblins. Foaly the centaur, is jaloux, and all the time telling that Opal is a bad person. Secretly she is bad, so his right. She is working with Briar Cudgeon, who were choosen as Commander 1 year ago, but because he let a troll into Fowl Manor Artemis Fowl's home, he then were degraded to liutenant. Opal and Briar, is the minds behind the goblin attacks and Dum-Dum-Lasers. All the time Briar has been used a fenchman, named Luc Carrère which he sended, a box, which held a micro computer device with a screen, showing Briar, in low quality. Torugh the screen he mesmerized Luc, and made him find boxes full of human gear, including the AA-Batteries, which he just placed in his room, and the next day, they were replaced by a fresh bunk of Franc-moneys.

-	Secretly Briar, planned to make the world his own, and he told Opal which he would marry her and make her his own princess, but secretly he were planning too, to make Opal Koboi die, and murd her. Artemis Fowl, Butler, Commander Root, and Captain Holly Short made it to the Koboi-Labs, with assistance, of the crimminal, cleptomanic, digging Dwarf, Mulch Diggums, which digged into the labs.

-	Briar had imprissoned, Foaly the centaur, in his own room, and make anyone in The Lower Elemnts, and LEPrecon belief that Foaly were the mind behind the attacks and battery plans. Artemis made it to the room which Opal, Briar, and the goblin generals were inside. He made it to there trough a DNA-Canon, which were programmed to fire on goblin DNA. He climbed trough a pipe full of cold Plasma. If plasma is not heated, then its just radio reactive junk. It were orange, but still small sparks could and sticks arround inside the pipe. Artemis made it, and saw a terminal showing the camera pictures of Foaly's room, he then were seen by Briar, and Opal. Foaly helped him, and made him turn on the speakers, so Foaly played his dalouge with Briar, inside his room, which revealed the secret behind his evil plans, and the dialouge contained the information about killing Opal Koboi. Briar has just turned the DNA-Canons on, as Opal flew down towards him, in her hover chair, and pushed him into the pipe which were full of plasma. He then burned to ash.

-	Then Butler, Root, and Holly avrived to the room, and they escaped. They then traveled to Russia again to try freeing Artemis Fowl's father, and they made it to the Russian Mafia Britva's henchmen, Mikhael Vassikin, and Kamar. They found some frozen atom submarines, which in one of them, his father, and Vassikin, and Kamar were inside. They shooted his fahter in the shoulder, and Artemis, called them on the mobile, and speaked with a perfect Russian acsent, telling them that the money were outside in the snow in a suitcase, they ran out, to find it, and as they did, then Holly flew inside the submarine, and healed his father. He lost a leg, because of the cold frozen water of Russia, but its better than nothing. Thet bringed him to a hospital in Helsinki, and then the story ended, with Holly gives Artemis a little fairy gold coin which she threw in the air and fired on with her Neutrino 2000, to make a hole in it, so it could be a necklace. It were given to Artemis from her, as a reminding of her, because really Holly Short, and Artemis Fowl are kinda best friends, and apparently in love (Spoiler! The group decide to head back to Tara, though Artemis was disappointed because they were close to finding his father.

		+	With the help of [[Mulch Diggums\|Mulch Diggums]], they manage to break into Koboi Labs. Artemis made it to the room which Opal, Briar, and the goblin generals were inside. He made it to there through vent full of orange plasma, used to power a cannon. Artemis managed to contact Foaly, and turned on the communications port at the centaur's instruction. He was then seen by Briar and Opal. Briar switched on the plasma cannon, but Foaly then played his recorded dialogue with Briar. In her rage, Opal pushed him into the range of the fully charged cannon, burning him to ashes.

		+	Butler, Holly and Artemis then traveled to Russia again to try freeing Artemis Fowl's father, and they made it to the Russian Mafia Britva's henchmen, Mikhael Vassikin, and Kamar. Artemis then told them that he never wanted his father alive, and told them to go outside to collect the ransom. Holly then gave Artemis fairy coin which she made a hole in, as a reminder of how he could choose to be good.

There, [[Foaly]] informs them that Artemis Fowl was able to predict a demon materialization. Holly is sent to ask Artemis how he could do so.

		+	On the demon island of [[Hybras]], which is suspended in "[[Limbo]]" (where time is nonexistent), [[N˚1]], an imp, is bullied because he has not "warped" (changed into a mature [[demon]]). After turning a wooden skewer into stone, N˚1 wonders if he is a warlock, though they all supposedly died. Leon Abbot, the leader of the demon pride, uses something suspiciously like [[mesmer]] to urge N˚1 to leave for the human world.

After seeing a girl present at Artemis' first demon encounter, Artemis concludes that she knows something about demons. She is identified as [[Minerva Paradizo]], and leaves for her residence with Holly following. N˚1, in Minerva's home, tells her about demon culture. He also learns that the spell holding Hybras in Limbo is failing. Holly has feigned unconsciousness and is in a cell with [[Billy Kong]] (one of Minerva's henchmen). She manages to knock him out.

		+	When Artemis distracts Minerva, Holly and N˚1 escape. Kong, who has some inaccurate knowledge of demons, demands that Minerva obtain another demon to avenge his deceased brother, for which he holds demons accountable. She is unable to comply, and he takes her hostage. Artemis strikes a deal in which he will trade N˚1 for Minerva in the Taipei 101 in Taiwan. Kong plans to strap a bomb onto N˚1 and remove the silver bullet anchoring N˚1 to this dimension. However, Artemis has already removed it, and with the help of a large silver damper in the building, Holly is able to keep N˚1 in this dimension. With the suspicion that N˚1 is a warlock, Artemis asks him to return a circle of statues bearing close resemblance to N˚1 back to life as there is a possibility that the statues were once warlocks and were magically turned to stone. Only Qwan is alive. When Kong loses consciousness, the bomb is revealed. Holly, Artemis, N˚1, and Qwan leave to dispose of the bomb, but the time tunnel sucks them onto Hybras. Artemis reasons that the bomb will provide sufficient energy for a spell to reverse the original time-spell. Qwan tells him that at least five magical beings will be necessary. Artemis had stolen magic in the time tunnel, making only four with magic.

		+	On Hybras, Abbot crowns himself the demon king. He is notified that four figures have appeared on the volcano, who are Artemis, N˚1, Holly, and Qwan. They accuse him of using the mesmer, but he states that demons cannot use magic. Artemis claims that Abbot stole magic from Qwan's apprentice, Qweffor. He demonstrates the fact by creating a spark out of the magic he took from the tunnel. With this development, then there will be five magical beings present (Abbot included), enough to reverse the time spell. Abbot is dragged into the circle unconscious; however, he fails to produce enough magic to support the spell. At that moment, Qweffor, Qwan's former apprentice, makes his appearance, revealing he has been living in Abbot after the first time spell was interrupted. With Qweffor's increased magic, the party is able to return to Artemis and Holly's dimension.

		+	When they land back in the 21st century, Artemis notices that he has switched an eye with Holly. Even though Qweffor's consciousness has once again been taken over by Abbot, N˚1 manages to expand Qweffor's consciousness enough to shut Abbot out. Unfortunately, the party is three years off into the future. Artemis now has twin brothers, Ark Sool has been fired, and Mulch has continued the PI firm (also recruiting Doodah Day). When Artemis sees Butler, Butler reveals that Minerva has grown to be "quite a beautiful young woman" who talks about Artemis extensively.
